“Go back with her”—the enemy can whisper similar words repeatedly in your ears, especially in times of your suffering. It is during suffering, we often start thinking about the huge losses of following Christ, and the benefits of forsaking Him. There will be a tug of war you may experience in your spirit about what to choose and what not to. There will be many people like Orpah whom the enemy will show you as an example to follow, who had gained some earthly benefits by going back to Moab. Many people who started the Christian journey along with you, like Orpah, may probably go back under pressure of persecution and suffering. But nothing should ever pull you away from the ultimate place of your destination.
Commit.
During times of persecution and suffering, which voice echoes in your ears the most?
Prayer.
Let’s pray that we will hold on to Christ and will never go back, no matter how hard the enemy may push us to go back during our times or hardships.
