THE LORD WHO HIDES
“_And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet, but the Lord hid them.”_ Jeremiah 36:26

*Ponder*.
“But the Lord hid them.” What a powerful and comforting statement! Here we see the hand of God at work when Baruch and Jeremiah had to be seized. It was Almighty God himself who kept them safe and protected!
Numerous adverse situations in the Bible show us that it was Almighty God who was working behind the scenes and protecting and hiding his people. Time and situations do not change the nature of God. We will still hear, “But the Lord hid them!”
And why would he hide us? It’s because he has called us his own! It is so reassuring and comforting to know that we are his people, his own, and he is our hiding place. What a privilege!

*Commit*.
Do we believe that in times of trouble, the Lord will hide us?

*Pray*.
We should ask the Lord to strengthen us and make us like Jeremiah in times of adversity.
