REJOICE IN SUFFERING
“_So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His Name.” Acts 5:41_
*Ponder*.
As believers, when we face humiliation, rejection, or persecution for the sake of Christ, we should consider it our privilege. The disciples show us this in that, through their public humiliation and beatings, they rejoiced because they were caused to suffer for the Lord. This is the attitude we should strive for, as difficult as it may be. Rejoicing in our afflictions and sufferings lifts up the Name of Jesus for our persecutors to see. Our reaction in times of distress and suffering is our witness to who Jesus is.
*Commit*.
Do we strive for the right attitude despite our suffering and humiliation? Let us model after the disciples who rejoiced in the midst of severe opposition.
*Pray*.
Let us pray for the Lord to help us to be His bold witnesses and to rejoice always despite all that we are dealing with, so that even our persecutors will come to know Him.
