“The LORD is my portion, says my soul, therefore, I hope in him.” Lamentations 3.24

In this fast-paced world, everything is available to us instantaneously. But our Christian life is entirely different. We bring a need in prayer for a change in our circumstances, but it may remain the same. We may ask the Lord to change the wickedness in the world. But we may continue to see the wicked flourish. It is in such situations that this verse by the prophet Jeremiah becomes so meaningful. Even when the situations remain unchanging and difficult, we will continue to wait for the Lord. He will enable us to wait patiently because He is our portion, our great reward. Our ultimate reward is not a changed circumstance or situation; it is not a solved problem. Our final reward is the Lord Himself!

Are we getting disturbed and upset because we have waited too long? Are we losing hope?

Let us ask Him to fill our hearts with hope and help us continue to hold on, as He is our great reward.
