FROM A COWARD TO A HERO

“Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member,… taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.” Mark 15:43

Ponder
Sometimes God calls us to do the remarkable, and this will always involve risks. Joseph of Arimathea was such a person who risked his life even when His disciples ran away, all for the sake of God’s kingdom. He went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. This required courage because, as he identified himself with Jesus, he was risking his life and career. He had been a secret believer because of fear, but now, after the Cross, he is not secret about it anymore!
God had earmarked Joseph’s own tomb to bury His only begotten Son’s body! For that God-given task, Joseph required remarkable courage to stand up to the world. When Joseph stood up for it, God transformed his fears into courage, and from a coward, Joseph turned into a hero.

Commit
When God calls you to do something remarkable and you risk everything, do you realise you’re a hero in His kingdom?

Pray
Please pray for the courage to follow the Lord’s lead and go to anyone He leads us.
