WHEN WE ARE HURT

“_Alexander, the metalworker, did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he has done.” 2 Timothy 4:14_

*Ponder*.
In his final letter to Timothy, Paul gives a warning about a particular Alexander who has done great harm to him. We can understand that this harm was very serious. Paul, however, chose not to focus on this and continued with the Lord’s work until the time of his death. Paul’s comfort was that God would repay the harm that was done to him, and this was not for Paul to consider but to leave to the Lord. When we face similar situations from those who try to harm us, do we adopt an attitude like Paul? The enemy will always use people to try to harm us, as was the case with Paul, but let us leave these things to the Lord to deal with.

*Commit*.
How do we react towards our persecutors and those who try to harm us?

*Pray*.
Let us pray for the Lord to give us the same attitude that Paul had towards his persecutors.
