In a heartbreaking case of religious persecution, four Christian families from the village of Huchadi, Kanker district of Chhattisgarh state have been excommunicated and expelled from their village because of their unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

The families of Mr. Ayetu Kawde, Mainuram Dugga, Manglu Netam, and Lachhan Dugga have been living as devoted followers of Christ for years. Mr. Ayetu Kawde, a father of five (three daughters and two sons—all adults), has been leading his family in their faith with steadfast commitment.

Their belongings were forcefully removed and thrown onto the road. Shockingly, the young daughters of the family were harassed, and the family was repeatedly pressured to undergo “Ghar Wapsi” (forced re-conversion to their previous religion). Although some villagers had even planned to demolish their house, the plan was thwarted due to division among the locals.

Struggling to have a glass of drinking water, Persecution Relief Family moved by their plight, has stepped in to provide immediate assistance. Arrangement’s are being made to dug a borewell as there is no source of clean water and they are taking water from a dirty pond.

It is deeply painful to witness the suffering of the Body of Christ in this way. Are our persecuted brothers and sisters not even worthy of a clean glass of water?

Across the nation, many Christian families are being boycotted, excommunicated, and left to suffer in silence.

Let us continue to stand with the persecuted Church.
