“It is in my power to do you harm, but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, ‘Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.” Genesis 31:29

Laban, in human terms, has the power to do anything against Jacob. But one thing Laban realised late was that he couldn’t do anything with his power unless allowed by the God of Jacob’s father, whom he wanted to destroy. Your persecutors may seem powerful. But always remember that they are subject to the control of your all-powerful God. Just as Laban, Jacob’s persecutor, was warned against harming Jacob, the same can happen today. We should pray that our persecutors today receive visions and dreams from God that prevent them from touching or harming God’s people. We should pray that our persecutors submit to these warnings.

Can we trust in the omnipotence of our God, who can stop even our persecutors from harming us?

Let us keep our persecutors in prayer that they will receive warnings from God not to harm God’s people.
