CROWN OF LIFE
_”Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Revelation 2:10_

*Ponder*.
All throughout the Bible, we have seen promises made by God to his children. And they have all been fulfilled. This verse too talks about a promise made by Jesus to his people—we, his children. This promise is not something to be fulfilled in the physical realm but in the heavenly realm. But to see a fulfilled promise, we are also expected to do our part by being faithful. We would say, of course, that we are faithful. But Jesus is not talking about being faithful in normal situations or circumstances.
He wants us to be faithful in times of persecution and suffering, which he knew more than 2000 years ago would come upon us. So, obediently and undauntingly, let us go through the persecution, suffering, and even death for the sake of Christ so that, as promised, we will receive the crown of life.

*Commit*.
Are we eager for the crown of life? Let’s recommit ourselves to living a life that will endure suffering so as to receive it.

*Prayer*
Let us ask the Lord to give us the love and understanding of the crown of life.
