Christians excommunicated in West Bengal

Pastor Srikanta Saren informed that 12 families have been excommunicated from their *village in Purba Burdhaman district, West Bengal state* due to their faith in Jesus Christ. Due to continuous threat and beating, they fled their village and found refuge in other village. Pastor Srikanta is taking care of 7 families while others have gone to their relative’s place. He soon ran out of food items to feed them and approached Persecution Relief. Immediately, the necessary support was given for them.

Church, as you hear many such reports where believers are flogged and excommunicated because of their faith. As they stand strong in their faith amidst persecution, some even living under open sky, let us pause for a moment and think about them who are facing threats all day long, not knowing how will they survive the next day.

Romans 8:36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

The angels rejoice in the presence of God when a soul is saved, here on earth let us give them some joy and peace by standing with them in their trials.
