BAPTISM OF SUFFERING.
_But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed! Luke 12:50_
*Ponder*.
The baptism Jesus speaks of is one of suffering, the suffering that He would endure on the cross, and until it was accomplished, He was in great distress. His distress was of two parts: first, the judgment of God’s wrath that would be poured out on Him, and second, to accomplish the will of His Father and complete the mission for which He was sent. Likewise, when we endure suffering and hardships and are greatly distressed, let us be reminded of what our Lord went through so that we too can walk in His footsteps and be immersed in His suffering in order for the Father’s will to be accomplished in and through us.
*Commit*.
In our suffering, let us remember Christ, who was under great constraint yet endured to the end.
*Pray*.
Let us pray that in our suffering, He will strengthen us to endure to the end so that His will may be accomplished.
