ELIJAH HAD ENOUGH!

Persecution Relief Daily Manna for the Persecuted

22 February 2024

ELIJAH HAD ENOUGH!

“… And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!” 1 Kings 19:4.

Ponder.

After a spectacular ministry, Elijah had enough discouragement to hang his boots and exit the earth, all because of the wicked woman Jezebel’s death threats. Elijah asks God to put a full stop, but God puts a comma and continues to use Elijah to anoint kings. You may hear discouraging or threatening voices all over as you serve God. But remember that you are not designed for suicidal thoughts; instead, you are equipped in Christ Jesus to shake off and move on courageously. The wilderness walks or broom brush stops in our calling are just stops for resting, replenishing, repairing, and refreshing. Get up and run the race!.

Commit.

Have you been tempted to run away from your calling when fear knocks on your door?

Pray.

Let us pray that we will run and not be weary when facing deep discouragement.
