Withdrawal of alleged Conversion Cases by Madhya Pradesh Government
This is to bring to your urgent attention that the Government of Madhya Pradesh, under the guidance of Madhya Pradesh’s Law and Legislative Minister, Mr. P. C. Sharma, has initiated a process to withdraw ‘alleged politically motivated and false cases’ lodged against missionaries and Christians, based on charges of their involvement in promoting forced conversion.
The Cabinet meeting of the Government which convened on 17th January 2019, has ordered the setting up of committees in all Districts, to be chaired by the Collector, SP and Public Prosecutor.
All victims of Christian persecution, against whom false charges were registered with the Police Station or pending in court, may seek redressal by submitting an Application addressed to the District Collector, to seek this benefit.
We request that you spread the message to those who have no access to this notification and urge them to take advantage of this benefit.
Persecution Relief would like to acknowledge the efforts of Rashtriya Isai Maha Sangh (RIMS) for spearheading this initiative.
While Persecution Relief and the Christian Community would like to sincerely thank the State Government of Madhya Pradesh for their response and indemnifying initiative, we wish to also acknowledge the efforts of various other Christian Organisations that advocate Freedom of Religion and Belief, who have tirelessly worked in the background, to make this possible.
