The ongoing struggles of life with the onslaught of the pandemic and its adverse effects faced by Adivasis in India is not the only existential threat but living a Christian life with surmounting persecution is only an addition to their daily striving.
Such is their suffering that the Adivasis are not only ostracised by society but face hostility and discrimination for following their faith. One such basti in Supela, Faridnagar, Durg, Chhattisgarh saw an uprising of religious fanatics recently while they were at a worship service conducted by their community pastor who visited them once a month.
As narrated to Persecution Relief by their Church Pastor Simon(name changed for security reasons) , the 10-12 families of his church were in attendance at the meeting when the perpetrators started creating havoc by hurling abuses at them and threatening to abort and shut down every Christian activity in the basti. Though he was not present at the meet; he learnt later, the main persecutor was one from their own community who instigated the staging of the attack with a local religious group.
A deliberate attempt by them to disturb the peaceful gathering of Christians; the religious group not only invaded the meeting but also lodged a complaint against four of the Christian Adivasis, out of which one was a woman, at the local police station. However, the intervention of a local woman activist and her group, a God-send, had the police withdrawing the complaint.
Though the efforts to carry out anti-Christian propagandas and step up violence to oust, shut down and infiltrate the habitations of Christians to spread a hostile atmosphere are on the rise, the amazing hand of God to protect His people as an answer to fervent prayers of Christians has also been seen. The boldness with which the Body of Christ is standing in unity and love is a growing evidence of God moving among His people.
Persecution Relief walks with the persecuted brethren as they boldly witness for Christ despite persecution and discrimination. Our mission is to frustrate the efforts of the enemy to stunt and abort the growth of the church and pray for the persecutors to know and live in the love of Christ. We are determined to keep sharing the gospel of love and truth putting away the fear of adversaries and adversities.
Please pray the love of Christ invade the hearts of the persecutors and help them experience His truth and live in their lives.
Please pray for Christians to live wisely, a life of complete surrender and obedience to Christ in the midst of turmoil and persecution.
Please pray for the protection of pastors, believers and church leaders that they may continue in their mission to take the gospel to the unsaved boldly.
Please pray for the outpouring of the Holy Ghost over the church in these times of darkness that the light of Christ will shine upon and through us.
It is Persecution Relief’s God-given assignment to support, provide and pray for our persecuted brethren. We stand for truth and live Christ’s life on this Earth as His hands and feet. The need to reach out to the persecuted Christians is great, even as we see darker days approaching in this world, we believe we are called to be the salt and light to the world. We asking you to support our ministry work so that not one Christian is deprived or neglected in the Body of Christ. Your giving brings restoration to their broken lives.
2 Timothy 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 2:3 – Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
