Two Pastors spent whole night in the Police station on false conversion charges. Chhattisgarh
On 11th August 2020, 10:50 pm Persecution Relief received a call on the Toll Free No 1800-1234-461 from Shibu Thomas. With great concern he informed Persecution Relief about the confinement of two Pastors at Amleshwar Police Station in Durg District of Chhattisgarh state in India.
Gautam is a school Principal whose son Rahul Nirala was suffering from mental illness.The family tried everything for his healing but he was getting worse day by day.
The family decided to take Rahul to Dr Vinay Sahu who is by profession a dental doctor and pastoring a church. The parents were convinced that Jesus could heal any sickness.
The family drove around 120 kms and dropped their son Rahul at Dr Vinay’s Church on 25th July 2020.
Speaking to Persecution Relief from the Amleshwar Police Station, Dr Vinay said ‘Initially Rahul was very good we’ll behaved, later he started behaving abnormally’.
Dr Vinay informed father Gautam about their son Rahul, that he is not behaving well but the father said he was busy with school activities and would come and take him after August 15th.
In the mean time Rahul started connecting with his friends and on 11th August, a bunch of religious fanatics came and manhandled Pastor Krishna and later Dr Vinay and Pastor Krishna were taken to Amleshwar Police station.
Pastor Krishna assist Dr Vinay in the ministry and he lives in the Church campus we’re Rahul was also staying.
Chhattisgarh Christian Forum President, Mr Pannalal spoke to police officials of the area.
Me Pannalal informed Persecution Relief that the incident had taken place in the constituency of the Chief Minister and we have handed over a memorandum also.
Throughout the night Dr Vinay and Pastor Krishna were in the police station and in the morning they were released without any charges after the parents of Rahul reached the Police station and gave their statement. They said that the Pastor had not done anything wrong and that it was they who requested him to keep their son at their place and also to pray for him.
Speaking to Persecution Relief after reaching home, Dr Vinay was thankful for all the prayers and support.
