Sunday Worship disrupted, Pastor & wife detained by Police, Haryana
On Sunday, 02nd June, 2019, Worship service was in progress at the residence of Sis. Kamlesh Kumari. Around 30 persons had assembled for the service.
Pastor Krishan Singh was ministering at “Upper Room” Church, in Babain village in Thanesar Tehsil, Kurukshetra, Haryana. Service had started at 9:30 am.
In what seems to be a well-planned and organized attack against the Christian community, a group of young men, started creating a nuisance by shouting slogans and banging at the gate, outside a house-Church.
Speaking to Persecution Relief, Pastor mentioned that his wife was sharing the message. While the meeting was in progress, the mob of young men began shouting slogans and disrupting the message.
These fanatics falsely alleged that they Pastor was involved in conversion activities. The fanatics convinced the neighbours who joined the melee and began shouting and raising slogans.
The protests took an ugly turn when they demanded that Pastor and his wife come out. They threatened to rape her and joked if Jesus would save her.
Police were summoned and instead of arresting the intruders, the Police took the Pastor, his wife and house-owner’s son Gurpreet, to Babain Police Station.
Police appeared very biased and did not investigate charges against the religious fanatics. Further, Police demanded that Pastor give in writing, that he would not hold any worship service in the residence of Kamlesh Kumari or any other house, if the future.
Police threated Pastor with dire consequences if he was found conducting any prayer meetings in the future.
Pastor and family were released after a few hours.
Church, please pray Christians across India, for God’s supernatural protection over all of them.
Across India, the scale of “crack down” against the Christian minority community has been unprecedented, with tighter surveillance of churches.
