Religious fanatics ransack and vandalize Telangana Church

Worship service had just got over and only a handful of believers were left in the Church. A group of religious fundamentalists, attacked and ransacked Faith Gospel Ministry in Daulatabad, in Medak District in the state of Telangana.

A mob of radicals called out to the Pastor Emmanuel and took him outside the Church and threatened him, while the rest of the mob, illegally trespassed into the Church and vandalized nearly everything inside. Everything of value were smashed and destroyed. Not even the musical instruments were spared. The Sound system, the furniture, Church Bulletin boards etc. were completely destroyed and set on fire. The pulpit was also trashed with communion plates, light bulbs and other smaller items scattered in pieces on the floor.

The Church members are heartbroken at the extent of the damage. Members say that the act of vandalism would cost the Church thousands of rupees in damage, which is a severe blow.

Hate crimes and attacks against Christians are on the rise in Telangana state. At the time of this story going to press, no perpetrators of this attack have been arrested.  Pastor has however urged the faithful to forgive those who have carried out this act saying that he will pray to God for their salvation.

Speaking to Pastor Emmanuel, while Persecution Relief Founder counselled and comforted Pastor in prayer, financial assistance covering the cost of the damaged items was also provided.
