Police torture innocent Christian teen. Madhya Pradesh
Religious Fanatics barge into Church premises after the Sunday Worship service and accuse Pastor Badri Prasad Banskar of Religious conversion.
The town of Ghamapur is located in the district of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, India. The Bethel New Life Church assembles every Sunday at a rented premises in this town.
Last Sunday, the worship service concluded at around 12 noon. As the believers greeted each other and begun to leave, a group of religious fanatics suddenly barged in. The believers were taken by surprise, as this was completely unexpected. The fanatics began looking around to find the pastor. As soon as they spotted him, they rushed to him and started accusing him of indulging in religious conversion. The pastor who was still perplexed resisted the accusations hurled at him. Soon, an argument broke out. The fanatics who seemed driven by rage, caught hold of an innocent teenage boy named Atin Sen, who was from a neighbouring district called Katni. Atin who had come to attend the worship service, was later taken to the police station at a place called Hanumantal.
Speaking to Persecution Relief, A disturbed Pastor Badri said that a helpless Atin, was beaten up by the police for no fault of his own at the police station.
Rev. David Lal, a local Christian leader spoke to Mr. Thomas, the Founder of Persecution Relief to discuss the situation after which Mr. Thomas spoke to the Supdt of Police, Mr. Amit Singh, in Jabalpur. He assured him that He will look into the case, Atin was booked under 151 IPC.
Pastor Badri and his wife are both Pastors. They have been faithfully serving the Lord in the town of Gamapur for the past 2.5 years.
We request earnest prayers for Pastor Badri, his family, Atin and the Church. Even though a traumatic ordeal such as this might have shaken their faith, let us speak courage over them. As Hebrews 10:23 says- Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
