Police and Fanatics harass Reverend.

Rev. Kapil Sharma is a Christian leader and an upcoming Biblical speaker from the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. He recently called Persecution Relief to inform us about how he was being harrassed by some goons.

As usual, on Sunday 10/11/19 he was leading a prayer meeting at Rajendra Nagar which is located in Indore, the business city of Madhya Pradesh, which is the second largest state of India.

While the meeting was in progress, a team of Policemen unexpectedly entered the premises and asked them to stop the meeting. The police explained that they had received a complaint alleging that the Reverend was involved in religious conversions.

In conversation with Persecution Relief, Rev.Kapil said “the police were very adamant, their letter stated that we gather 144 people, when according to them, more than 4 people were not allowed to gather!” The Reverend confidently replied by saying, “I am not converting anybody, they have come on their own and all are Christians.”

Accompanying the police were also a large group of fanatics. They also joined the commotion and asked the Reverend to stop the meetings and threatened him to discontinue the worship service.

That was not all the fanatics also asked him to shut down the Church, but Rev Kapil took a stand by saying, “If the owner of the rented premises asks me to stop conducting church meetings, then I will stop, otherwise i will continue gathering people to pray and worship Jesus Christ.

We request you to keep Rev.Kapil and the church members in your prayers. Let us also never forget to pray for the persecutors. With God, all things are possible, including changing the stone cold heart of an anti- Christian fanatic to a Christ centered one.

Persecution Relief has recorded 330 incidents of hate crime against Christians in 2016, 440 incidents in 2017, 477 incidents in 2018 and till September 2019 we have recorded 349 incidents of Christian Persecution against Christians in India.
