Pastor Khelprasad Kurrey has been ministering at a town called Sakti , in a nagar palika in Janjgir-Champa district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Every Sunday, around 100 believers gather at ‘Believers Church’ in Shakti, Chhattisgarh, for the last 2 years.

On Friday, 13th October 2017, well after sun-set, as Pastor was returning from visiting a believer named Krishan on his two-wheeler, somewhere along the way, two men waved out to him to stop. Assuming that they might be someone known to him, Pastor slowed down and stopped his vehicle. As soon as he, a mob of unidentified men, who had been hiding, waylaid Pastor and began beating him up on allegations of conversion activities. Pastor was brutally assaulted, profusely bleeding from his head and his body, and had to be hospitalized after the incident. So far, no one has been arrested.

Pray that God would open the eyes of the people who are execute these beatings that God would open their eyes to the truth of His Word. Pray also for the complete healing, continued boldness and safety of our missionaries. Pray that no discouragement or fear will stop the spread of the gospel.
