Pastor and believers attacked with stones, Tamil Nadu

The week preceding Easter is considered as the last week of Jesus’s life, suffering and death on the cross, and across the world, Christians observe it with fasting and praying.

Dharmapuri AG Church, located in Dharmapuri District in Tamil Nadu, is pastored by Pastor Sunder Singh. The Church was observing a fasting and prayer meeting today, 31st March 2018. Pastor Rouson Prabhakar was the guest speaker invited to deliver God’s word.

The meeting started at 10.00 am. Suddenly, they could hear shouting and great commotion outside the Church followed by the loud sound of shattering glass

As Pastor stepped out to investigate, to his utter shock and dismay, he found a lady from the neighborhood and a few other men, vandalizing and damaging the motor bikes parked outside the Church. They also threw large stones and broke the glass window panes of the Church.  As Pastor tried to intervene and enquire as to why they were indulging in such activities, and resolve the matter amicably, somebody hit him with a stone on his face and he began to bleed.

The Belivers inside the Church, sensing that something was wrong, rushed outside to find their Pastor bleeding. As they tried to pacify the attackers and enquire about the happenings, the religious fanatics started attacking them and many were injured.

Pastor was rushed to the local government hospital where he is still under treatment. The incident happened at 1.30 pm.

Narrating the incident to Persecution Relief, Pastor Sunder Singh’s son, Bro. Jubal said my dad is very seriously injured but we consider it as a great privilege to be persecuted for Jesus Christ.

He also said the religious fanatics who live in the neighborhood have filed a false complaint against my Father that he misbehaved with the ladies.

Church, please pray for God’s supernatural peace and reconciliation among the neighbours and the Church.
