Persecution Relief has recorded more than 90 cases of Hate Crimes against Christians in Uttar Pradesh alone, since January to September 2020.
Uttar Pradesh has been the number 1 state in India regarding Christian persecution continually for the past 3 years.
It is shockingly factual that false conversion charges are so easy to be made against innocent Christians. While fanatics falsely accuse Christians of forcing conversions, it is Them who took it as a self-authorized habit to put pressure on any poor villager to force him say that he was forcing conversion on others by giving money or job. Unfortunately their cruel act of forcing someone to false testimony remains uncensored.
One such case of False Complaint of Conversion by force was registered against Pastor Moti Lal in a village at District Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh State.
Pastor Moti Lal has been working in Delhi and had a personal encounter with the Lord Jesus because of his diseases.
“I used to work in a company and during that time my sister referred me to some people, saying that if these people pray, you will be healed. So i just went ljke that, and during the prayer i was healed and had an encounter with Jesus Christ” reported Pastor Lal to Persecution Relief.
Therefore He started his ministry in 2013.
“A religious fanatic of our village made a false Complaint against me with the police. He said that i tried to convert a villager by giving money and that this villager resisted and that i further threatened to beat him. But this was all falsely fabricated and ultimately i was hooked under IPC 151 section and the police came and took me to Huderganj Police Station. I was held in the Police station from 8AM to 3 PM and then i was released on bail” testified Pastor Moti Lal to Persecution Relief.
Let’s pray for steadfast walk of our brethren who are undergoing now the test of faith “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore” – Revelation 3:19
Let’s pray that all false cases of conversion against Christians across India, be closed down.
Let’s pray that Pastors be strengthened to serve the Lord boldly, as we know for a fact that any child of God getting closer to the heart of Jesus will have to face persecution. “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you” – John 15:19
Let’s pray for the revival of conscience of the Police and the fanatics and their leaders and governors that they won’t compromise on the truth for their vested interests in eliminating Christians.
Let’s pray that all plans of Ahithophel will not prosper.
Let’s pray for the salvation of souls of the fanatics that they realize it is the encounter with the Spirit of Jesus that changes hearts, and they realize it is the captivating power of the love of Christ poured upon their hearts through the Holy Spirit, that naturally transforms anyone who receives it into a lover of Jesus.
Uttar Pradesh! One would expect it to be the most peaceful state in the country. After all, the ‘Holy State’ is being ruled and led by a monk. Based on his religious beliefs, the state should have set a high standard for the rest of the provinces in the country. Not just Christians, but people of all faiths are experiencing its predominant hostilities.
27 hate crimes were recorded in Uttar Pradesh in the 3rdquarter of 2020, bringing its year to date count to a mind-blowing 90 cases! These numbers make it the Most Dangerous State in India For Christians to live in and since 2017, no other state has taken this title.
Since January 2016 to September 2020, Persecution Relief has recorded 2224 cases of Christian Persecution in India.
In 2019 alone, we recorded the maximum number of 527 cases compared to 447 cases in 2018, 440 in 2017, and 330 in 2016. From January 2016 to June 2020, Persecution Relief has recorded 2067 cases of Hate crimes against Christians in India.
The US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has downgraded India to the lowest ranking, ‘Countries of Particular Concern’(CPC) In its 2020 report. The US State Department ranked India’s persecution severity at “Tier 2” along with Iraq and Afghanistan. Over the past seven years, India has risen from No. 31 to No. 10 on Open Doors’ World Watch List, ranking just behind Iran in persecution severity.
