Our country is facing backward retarded religious persecution, that has flirted now the level of a civil war, a war based on identity, on labels.
Again and again Christian families are being harrassed for their identity in Christ.
On the 7/10/2020, a group of religious fanatics including members of the same village, attacked more than 7 Christian homes in a village Hirma under jharsuguda district in Odisha State of India. Christian families were dragged out of their houses and were beaten up by these fanatics, without even sparing the Women and Children.
They want to force more than 30 Christian families to do Ghar Wapsi (turning back to original faith). While these families willingly have chosen Christ and devotedly happily rejoicing in the spirit of the Lord Jesus who has fulfilled their hearts, these fanatics want now to force them to go back to hinduism. While these fanatics accuse christians of forced conversions, they seem to be oblivious that They are the ones who are forcing them to take back an old belief.
“We have more than 30 Christian families in the village Hirma and the fanatics are harrassing every family” reported the Local Pastor Samal Lugun from Jewan Marg.
“Their demands are that we should forsake Christ and leave the Christian faith otherwise we will keep on harrassing you to a point where you will have no option except leaving the village. You will only be allowed to live here if you forsake Christ” added Pastor Samal.
Sunil Munda, one of the believers who were dragged out of the house and beaten along with his sisters Juspin Kisan and Masicharan Gudiya bravely declared 4 points:
1. All our christian brothers don’t want to be reconverted to Hinduism.
2. As the Lockdown is no more, we want to Worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ without any hinderance.
3. Few marriages are to be held and we don’t want any disturbances from the fanatics.
4. We need proper permission and assurance from the local authorities to conduct our worship services in the days ahead. It is our fundamental constitution rights.
“All our believers are strong in faith even after this gruesome attack, their faith never faded in Jesus. They are trusting in the Lord and his wisdom. Even if we have to face more persecution and we lose everything we have decided as a family that we will never turn back” reassured boldly Pastor Samal. He added that fear is obvious but by the power of Holy Spirit we will endure and follow his leading.
How can a merciless, anarchic, inconsiderate immature barbaric behavior, be of God?
But the Bible teaches us that Love is patient, love is kind. It is not rude and not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil ways but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres”.
Let’s pray fanatics come to learn the qualities of Love, because Love is the essence of God, love is of God, love is the spirit of God, while violence is of the devil.
As Christians we know that persecution is a no-escape fate of any spirit-filled born again christian. “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” – Timothy 3:12.
“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth” – Hebrews12:6. We know that pain is the currency to buy spiritual riches, the more the pain, the more we get closer to the glory dimension that our Lord Jesus himself went through, through his incomparable pain.
For “our present suffering is not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us” – Romans 8:18
And all of us as one, united in the heart Jesus, we will keep caring for each other and protecting each other in the middle of the persecution.
Let’s pray that authorities and police remind their fanatics that our country belongs to its citizens not only to hindus and that they remind their fanatics of their limits because it is the basic obvious rule of every citizen to not oppress the freedom of others at least not by violence.
Let’s pray the fanatics remember that violence cannot change the heart of anyone and that they mature to a minimum level of understanding and civilization.
Let’s pray they understand that violence is lowest level of the carnality of the flesh.
Let’s pray that they respect the basic right of anyone to worship the God he wants and the basic right to invite anyone to worship along.
For how can “inviting” be considered as “forcing” while “beating to do Ghar Wapsi” be acceptable to their minds?
Let’s pray the steadfast love of our Christ Jesus captures their heart by grace so that they be convicted and transformed and fulfilled.
Let’s pray for our christians to succeed the test of faith, using the endurance quality of the Spirit of God, that they’ll not faint nor compromise.
Let’s pray for the salvation of the lost, that they allow themselves to taste and abide in the love of God and understand what it is to be a child of God.
Let’s pray as in the likeness of the Love of our Lord to his father and to us, so we keep a steadfast love to our Lord and our bretheren.
For by our Christ-like love everyone shall recognize that we are Christians.
