New Year’s watch-night service vandalized, Tamil Nadu

Pastor M. A. Prabhakar has been pastoring at Mizpah Prayer Hall at 2001, Housing Board Colony, Shankar Nagar, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.

Pastor had moved to this location in 2013 and was extremely happy with the neighborhood and the community which was very cooperative. Even the 22nd December, Christmas celebrations were attended by most of the people in the neighborhood.

On 31st December, at around 10.30 pm, watch-night worship service was in progress, and around 20 believers had congregated. 15 minutes into the worship service, there was a loud thud followed by the sound of shattering glass. Pastor and the congregation ran out to check and found a couple of men running away and taking off on motorbikes.  Stones had been hurled at the Church and the glass panes broken by these unidentified fundamentalists, who are intent on intimidating and harassing Christians.

Pastor Prabhakar has requested for prayers – for God’s protection over the congregation and his family.
