TRIED FOR CHRIST.

“But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues.” Matthew 10:17

 

Ponder.

God’s people are seen as enemies in today’s times. Several times in the Bible, Jesus talks about persecution for his name. Although we know that during Jesus’ trial, his most trusted disciples denied knowing him, abandoned him, and even betrayed him. But what if, after he had given them the command to preach the gospel, they had fled in fear? Would we know the Gospel and Christ as our Saviour? Never! We, too, would have been in the crowd. The essence of Christ’s warning to his disciples is that they continued to spread the Gospel. Let us continue to press on as faithful disciples, never forgetting what Christ did for us. Are we ready to be tried for Christ?

 

Commit. Shall we ask for prayer that, throughout these difficult situations, we do not become weak and cold?

 

Pray. Let us pray that Christ’s warning will not deter us but rather strengthen and encourage us.
