A Catholic group in Goa has opposed the call given to lift the ban imposed by Goa government on Ram Sene and its chief Pramod Muthalik.
The All Goa Catholic Minority Front (AGCMF) reminded those favouring Muthalik’s entry into Goa that he and his Ram Sene are known for fomenting trouble, going on rampage in the guise of moral policing and creating communal disharmony by trying to impose their fundamentalist ideas on youth and minorities in particular.
AGCMF said it would pay back the goons of the fundamentalist organisation Ram Sene, in the same coin, if they indulged in violence and intimidation against innocent women and couples in Goa.
In a statement issued here AGCMF Convener Barnabe Sapeco said, “The fringe groups in Goa have come together to give a back door entry to Muthalik after the recent acquittal of some 30 Ram Sene goons in a case involving attack on girls and couples in a Manglore Pub, wherein the prosecution failed to furnish proper evidence to nail the culprits of Ram Sene. This has given boost to the fringe group to go ahead with its agenda of destroying the secular fabric of society by imposing their ideas in name of (protecting) Hindu culture.”
“Goan youth do not need Muthalik and his goons of Ram Sene to teach them morality as they are very cultured and know how to behave themselves in society,” the statement reads as.
The AGCMF has warned that if the ban on Muthalik and his Ram Sene is lifted and they try “to impose their ideology using violence and intimidation on innocent women and couples, AGCMF will retaliate in the same coin and the authorities will be held solely responsible for the same.”
