FANATICS USE FACEBOOK TO DEFAME AND FALSELY ACCUSE PASTOR, JHARKHAND.

Persecution Relief received a desperate call on their Toll-Free No: 1800-1234-461 from A Pastor was shocked to read a fabricated allegation made against him on both print and social media. A religious extremist group has accused him of converting 120 people to Christianity in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

Speaking to Persecution Relief about the incident, *Pr. Ramu said , “On the 9th of September 2020, a friend sent me screenshots of a post that was uploaded on Facebook, accusing me and my Church of converting 120 members of 30 families to Christianity.”

“Later that day, another friend called and told me that a disturbing article about me had been published in a local newspaper, saying that I have been cheating and bribing innocent tribals to convert to Christianity”, said Pastor Ramu.

In the post uploaded on Facebook, one of the fanatics alleges that for the past 6 months, the Pastor has been conducting healing meetings and going from house to house to tempt people to become Christian. “A few men from my community i.e. the Mukhi community, have joined in with the fanatics to accuse me”, said the Pastor.

The post also states that a few officials from the religious-nationalist group and a few people from the community had a meeting concerning this matter and have planned to take appropriate legal action against the accused.

The fanatic then ends his post by requesting the Hindu society to be vocal against ‘foreign Christian missionaries.’ “These people did not approach me at all, but a police complaint has been filed against me at the local police station,” said Pastor Ramu, who serves with a reputed Church in Jharkhand.

We have lost count of such attacks that are regularly being made against the Christian minority. Numerous Pastors and Christian ministers are being falsely accused of bribing vulnerable and underprivileged people to convert to Christianity. This has now become the common and widely used narrative amongst Anti-Christian groups, especially on Facebook.  The draconian Anti-Conversion law which has been passed in 8 Indian states, has made the situation even worse for any Christian to even have a normal conversation about their faith.

Pray that God, our righteous judge, would clear Pr. Ramu of all false allegations and defamations.

Pray that Pr. Ramu would take shelter in the shadow of the Most High and Almighty God and trust in his protection.

Pray for the protection of the Church and the Pastor from all schemes and plans of the evil one.

Pray for God to supernaturally intervene in this situation and cause the persecutors to lose all interest in pursuing and harassing the Pastor and Church in Jharkhand. That God would touch their hearts, have mercy on them, and transform them with His love.
