Drunk Fanatics stall Sunday Church Service. Chhattisgarh
Persecution relief received a call from Pastor Ram Prasad, reporting a case of religious persecution.
Since 2012, in a village called Salni, located in Korba, a district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, around 9 families have been gathering every Sunday to Worship at the residence of Kirthan bai a local believer.
On 05/01/20, the Sunday Worship begun as usual and Pastor Kanaiya Lal was leading the gathering. At around 10:30am, the congregation was taken by shock and surprise when a group of Religious fanatics who were under the influence of alcohol, rushed into Kirtan Bhai’s house and started verbally abusing everyone present. The uncontrollable group of drunk men threatened to kill anyone who attempted to continue Worship and prayer and gave an ultimatum to the believers to stop any Christian undertakings within the next 2 days with dire consequences.
Pastor Buneshwar Ratre, who is the Pastor of the Church spoke to Persecution Relief from Gujrat , where he was attending a meeting and said that in his absence, Pastor Kanaiya Lal was leading the worship.
“Since the last 3 months we have been facing problems withthese religious fanatics. They asked the believers for Baptism certificates and also demanded the name of the Pastors who have baptized them.” Said the concerned Pastor.
Today Kirthan Bhai has registered a complaint against the fanatics at the Jaijpur Police station.
Beloved Church, we urge you to pray for peace and for the safety of the believers and Pastor’s family.
