Church shut down by fanatics, Bihar

Pastor Jacob Mani, has been facing constant harassment and opposition for the last few weeks.

Fellowship Baptist Church started a ministry three years ago in Kuchaikote Block of Gopalganj district in Bihar. The meeting was being held at the home of Bro. Rajkiran, a believer, since he was paralyzed and bed ridden. But the grace of Jesus Christ, he was miraculously healed by prayer and is now able to walk with support. 

In honour of His reverence and gratitude to God, he opened his home He insisted on having a worship service at his house and so, Pastor Jacob started the meeting there.

On 26 January 2018, India Mission, conducted a meeting at Jalalpur village, which is around 5 km from Kuchaikote, for Pastor Jacob’s church members.

During the meeting, an unidentified person started taking pictures of the meeting and posted them on social media further sensationalizing by falsely alleging that “Christians were involved in conversion activities”.

Later, he visited Pastor Jacob and handed him the phone asking him to speak to their Bajrang Dal chief. This man, began to abuse, accuse and berate Pastor, intimidating him that if he conducted any further meetings in the village, he would face dire consequences.

After 2 days, these fanatics went to a Bro. Rajkiran’s house (where the prayer meetings were being held), and threatened him, asking him to forsake Christ. They took the Holy Bible from his residence and tore it up, menacingly threatening that they would burn his house down, if he every held a meeting again.

On Saturday, 2nd February, 2019, Pastor Jacob received a message from sources that they were going to attack the worship service being held at Pastor Jacob’s house

On Sunday, 3rd Sunday, 2019, the House owner of the rented premises where the worship service is held, was pressurized by the fanatics not to allow any prayer meeting there. 

Pastor Jacob called Persecution Relief and narrated the whole incident. He mentioned that he was very worried about the congregation, who are terrified to gather, owing to the threats of the fanatics.

Church, many servants of God work in hostile situations like this across India and it is the responsibility of every Church to pray for these servants of God and for the believers that they may stand strong in their faith and that none should be lost.
