Pastor Kalimala Purushotham had been ministering at “Holy Spirit Foundation Church”, since the past 5 years, where around 500 Christians gather every Sunday. This thatched-roof Church was located at Nallapadu, a neighbourhood of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.

On Friday, 24th May, around mid-night, it is alleged that religious fanatics trespassed into the property, set the thatched roof-cottage-Church on fire, and completely razed it to the ground.

All the Church materials like Holy Bibles, Chairs, Musical Instruments and the Pulpit, were reduced to ashes.

On receiving the news, Pastor Purushotham, who lives around 2 kms away in a village called Vengalaya Palli, rushed to the spot to see the unbelievable sight.  Speaking to Persecution Relief, Pastor’s son Israel, a graduate from Bible College, expressed great sadness and disappointment at this religious, hatred-motivated crime. He estimated the loss at around Rs. 5 Lakhs.

Church pray that God in His mercy, would comfort and strengthen Pastor Purushotham and his family.
