Church building burnt down to ashes in
Report by Persecution Relief Coordinator : Pr Zeba
Unidentified persons burnt Advent Christian Churchbuilding, in Vadailluppai Village, Vembakkam Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu.
On Saturday, 05th April, at 6.30 pm, Vacation Bible School had just got over and around 50-odd children had dispersed. After locking the Church, Pastor left to a nearby village, to pray for a sick boy. During this time, unidentified religious fanatics broke into the locked Church. In a senseless arson attack, they burnt everything inside the Church – Holy Bibles, Christian Literatures, Cupboards, music instruments. The entire Church building, with coconut frond thatched roof, was then set on fire.
Though shaken up, Pastor is determined to rise up and pursue the vision given to him by God in spite of enduring such hardship.
Bro. C.J. Zeba, Persecution Relief’s Tamil Nadu Coordinator, is currently in Vadailluppai village with Pastor Anbarasan. The plan to jointly visit the Police Station to lodge a FIR.
Accusations of forced conversion are often leveled against Christians as a means of justifying attacks on the minority community. In spite Christians protesting against hatecrimes, media coverage and opposition from political parties, religious fanatics are continuing their brazen attacks on churches.
Church, pray that God would restrain the enemies of the Gospel of the Lord.
Pray that Pastor will continue to work to lift up the Lord’s name among His people.
