Christians intimidated and stopped from attending Sunday Worship service, Tamil Nadu

Pastor A Selvanayagam, ministers with El Shaddai Church at village Alangayam, in Vaniyambadi town, Vellore district of Tamil Nadu. This Church, located on his own, private property, has become a point of consternation.

Pastor has been ministering for the past 20 years, from the same location.  However, the last 6 months has been a nightmare for the Pastor and the believers who attend this Church. Pastor’s neighbour, a Mr. Gopi, a truck-driver by profession, has been intimidating and threatening to shut down the Church.

On Sunday, 15th April, Gopi along with his wife and a handful of other persecutors, stood at the street corner, abusing and threatening believers, dissuading them from attending the Sunday worship.

Speaking to Persecution Relief Bro. Charles Rajkumar, son of the Pastor narrated this incident. He expressed anguish and disappointment at the harassment of these religious fanatics. He was very worried for his father as he claimed to be working outside Vellore and returns only on Sunday’s to attend the worship service with his father.

Church, please remember Pastor and his family in your prayers.

Pray for the change of heart of the persecutors.
