Persecution Relief received an urgent call from Bro. Ahmed (Name changed) seeking guidance and counsel, as they had received summons from the local police station, to an alleged complaint against them.

Bro. Ahmed and 3 Brothers are residents of a town in a central Indian state. Born Muslim, they had an encounter with Isa (AS) Jesus Christ and have become His followers. Their encounter with Jesus Christ, nevertheless came at a high price, as they faced and continue to face several hardships from within their community.

As Jesus said: “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.” Matthew 24:9

Rejection of their faith has made them a target of religious fundamentalists, who have been targeting and harassing them for months. Almost a year ago, a group of fanatics, armed with swords, surrounded Bro.Ahmed house and began shouting abuses, threatening to kill him. Jesus saved him from the hands of the persecutors.

The Bible says, “The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.” – Psalm 34:7

Bro. Ahmed had to move out of town and settle at another location. Almost a year after that incident, when he went back to his hometown, he found that he was still on the radar of the fanatics.

On 11th June, local Police visited Bro.Ahmed and asked him to visit the Police Station along with the 3 Brothers, as they had received a complaint against them. When they sought more details, the Police were not forthcoming but simply asked them to visit the Station the next day.

Filled with apprehension, Bro. Ahmed contacted Persecution Relief where he was counseled, prayed & encouraged with the Word of God.

The Holy Bible says: “Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say.” Luke 12:11-12.

As Bro.Ahmed and the Brothers left for the Police Station, with all sorts of questions running through their mind. Trusting in Jesus Christ, they stepped into the Police Station with great faith.

The Policemen on duty was very cordial, polite and civil towards them. They were handed a copy of the complaint and asked to read the contents.

The Complainant claimed that Bro. Ahmed and his Brothers were terrorists and were forming a terrorist cell, with the intent of recruiting new terrorists by force. The complainant also alleged that they were receiving millions of dollars in their Bank Accounts every day and were meeting with many foreigners.

Bro. Ahmed and the Brothers were shocked at reading the incredulous and baseless allegations made against them. While they found the whole episode funny, they were also anxious about its implications.

However, the Police put their minds at ease by telling them that they could discern whether a person was a terrorist or not. As the complaint was received from the SP‘s Office, the same was forwarded to the local Police Station for investigation.

Before Bro.Ahmed and the brothers could leave, they were reassured not to be fearful or anxious and that no action would be taken against them.

Bro. Ahmed and the brothers are grateful to God, praising and thanking our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, saying. “This was the LORD’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.”. Psalm 118:23

Praise God for an amazing answer to prayer! Thank you, Church, for praying.
