Parent of students falsely accuse School of forcing students to convert to Christianity and indulge in related activities.
The Eton English Medium School is situated in Bansi, a town in the District of Siddharthnagar, which features in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was founded and established over 28 years ago by D.S.Dasan, a visionary and faithful Christian who left his home town, embraced the state of Uttar Pradesh and evenlearned the local language. It is a well reputed school and is know for inculcating moral and ethical values in its studentsbased on Christian principles. At present, over 1500 students are being educated at this institution.
Mr. Dasan recently called the Persecution Relief toll free No.1800-1234-461 to report a case of persecution. Apparently, a Parent of 2 children who are studying in the school for the past 5 years has alleged that religious conversion and other relatedactivities are being carried out at the school. He has also sent outletters to all local administration offices and to the Chief Ministers office, falsely accusing the school of the same.Although the accuser’s intentions of maligning the institution is unknown, his allegations are in line with the common rhetoric about ‘forced conversion’ used by religious fundamentalists topersecute Christians in India.
Pictures of Bibles being distributed in the school have beencirculated by the parent in an effort to defame the school and portray it in a wrong light. His blame game also involvesfabricated lies about the students being forced to follow Christian teachings.
Briefing us about his ordeal, Mr.Dasan expressed his grief as he recollected the past 28 years of hard work and commitment towards the school. He mentioned that an Inspector had paid him a visit, but since he was not at home, the official spoke to his wife saying, “We have received a complaint against your school, we know it is not true, but we need to do our investigations.” Such is the reputation of The Eton English Medium School.
We request your fervent prayers for D.S.Dasan and the school. That God would protect them from every attack of defamation and false accusation. For wisdom and discernment as they face this challenge. Pray that the parent who has wrongly accused the institution would stop spreading destructive rumours and would experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Also pray for the many Christian institutions such as this, that are targeted by Religious Fanatics across India.
Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you For the LORD is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him-Isaiah 30:18. He is a God of faithfulness and is without injustice. He is good and upright. His work is perfect and all his ways are just, how then can we be anxious? Let us rest in his unfailing love and eternal promise of safety, vindication and protection.
