Christian boldly confronts fanatics, Himachal Pradesh.
“The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion. “Proverbs 28:1.
A Christian’s life must be worthy of the gospel so that when Jesus Christ returns, he may find us standing firm, unafraid of our enemies. That is the power of God in us, it makes us bold and courageous. It radically frees us from all fear, so that we can be as bold as a lion for the sake of the gospel!
Hari Bahadur and his family, live in a little village named Rakkar which features in Dharamshala, the headquarters of the Kangra district, located in the North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. He is a tourist guide by profession and often takes teams to Ladakh, a scenic union territory of India. Hari, a faithful Christian, is also involved in Christian ministry. When he is not on his tour trips, he spends time serving the local Church.
Hari was recently introduced to Persecution Relief by a mutual friend and brother in Christ named Deep Ram. A short while ago, Local Authorities had issued a relaxation on the Lockdown in Dharamshala for 2 hours in the morning, hence Hari and his wife Nisha decided to visit a Christian couple who were recentlyblessed with a baby. After purchasing toys and clothes for the new born, they drove to Saletgodam, the village where their friends, Karan and his family live, which is 3kms away from their home.
As they sat together and discussed the protection and blessingsof God over mother and child during the Covid-19 pandemic, they were unaware that a few rogues from the village had alerted the members of a religious extremist group about religious conversions taking place at Karan’s house. Karan and his wife spoke fondly about their experience with their new baby as Hari and Nisha are also expecting their baby this July. But as they sat chatting, they had a group of uninvited guests knocking at the door.
As Karan opened the door, a group of religious fanatics stormed in and began questioning them about what was happening inside the house. Karan calmly explained that they were friends who had come to visit them to see the new baby, However, the fanatics got aggressive and began to verbally abuse Hari of being involved in religious conversions. Ignoring the recovering mother and her new born and turning a blind eye to Nisha who is visibly pregnant, the religious goons began creating a raucous inside the house.
In a moment of heroic courage with his wife boldly standing by his side, Hari bravely answered the fanatics, “How can you blame and accuse us when we have done nothing wrong? There is no religious conversion going on here. Who gives you the right to walk into anybody’s home like this?” The fanatics were dumbfounded. Sensing Hari’s confidence in his words and realizing that they had nothing to vouch for, they immediately left.
As we thank God for this testimony of boldness and courage, lets pray for the safety of Hari and Nisha. Pray that Nisha progresses towards a safe delivery and for good health to always be their portion. Do also pray that the religious fanatics would not harass Karan and his family. Lets also pray that the religious extremist group would have a supernatural encounter with the only way, the truth, and the life-Jesus Christ.
