After Amrita Fadnavis came under fire for organising a Christmas event, on Saturday, it was the turn of BJP Mumbai President and Bandra West MLA Ashish Shelar to face the heat on Twitter.
Right-wingers on Twitter seemed upset by Shelar supporting a musical event titled “Prabhu Yeshu Janmtosav” on December 17 at Girgaum Chowpatty. A lot of right-wingers and BJP supporters appeared to be angered by the BJP leader hosting an event which they felt promoted ‘evangelists’ and demanded an explanation from him and Maharashtra Chief Minis Devendra Fadnavis.

Another claimed that while BJP General Secretary was uniting India with India Ideas Conclave 2017, here BJP was ‘supporting those who want to break India’.

  1. Why can’t we be united. Religion doesn’t matter, ultimately we wl all go to d same place after death. Do we ask for religion when we donate blood

  2. What a shame ? What does this BJP think they are? Like them every citizen of India has right to celebrate their religion and they also belong in India.
Hindustan is just a name of the county all who dwell there are called Hindustani / Indians.
Who gave them the right to play god?who are they to dictate others .
Live and let others live and maintain peace in the Country

  4. No one has any right to disturb the peace and harmony of our Great country India. India belongs to all religions. Let’s together strive hard towards nation building instead of creating unrest.

  5. Christmas’s day is General holiday throughout India to enable people of all faith to receive the Saviour. Singing with joy is inevitable. The joy in the hearts of people is beyond politics.
