Being faithful in spite of the storm, Rajasthan

32 years ago, Pastor Sindhi (name changed) and  his entire family, surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ and accepted Him as His personal savior. After his conversion, his entire family came to Christ.

With a burden for the salvation of the Sindhi Community, Pastor Sindhi  ministers in a church at Jaipur. However, he has faced innumerable threats and harassment from right-wing religious fanatics.

Speaking to Persecution Relief, Pastor was deeply troubled that several believers from his community, were suffering great persecution from their own family members.

Once the family learns about this fact that they are following Christianity, they harass and pressurize the believer to sell their inherited ancestral property and move out from the area or recant and give up their faith in Jesus Christ.

Mansarovar is a colony in the city of Jaipur. It was Asia’s largest colony till 2010. Here several Sindhi families who are followers of Jesus Christ, live here. Several of the house churches are being targeted and regularly harassed by religious fanatics, threatening them with dire consequences with they do not forsake following Christianity. Adhoc Sindhi Panchayats are gathered and threats made to many families, who are living in constant fear.

While Freedom of religion in India is a fundamental right guaranteed by Article 25-28 of the Constitution of India, this illegal practice of targeting Christians from the community, is rampant across Rajasthan, Nagpur and Ajmer etc. Although the Indian Constitution

Sindhi’s are an Indo-Aryan ethno-linguistic group who speak the Sindhi language and are native to the Sindh province of Pakistan, which was previously a part of pre-partition British India. After the partition of India in 1947, most Sindhi Hindus and Sindhi Sikhs migrated to India.

Church pray for the Sindhi Community believers to stand strong in their faith, in spite of these times of trials and testing.
