Arrested on charges of conversion, Uttar Pradesh

On Sunday, 07th October, worship service had just concluded and at around 2:30 pm, Policemen from Deedarganj Police Station. came into the Church and arrested Pastor under charges of indulging in religious conversion, without any evidence to support their claim.

Pastor Ledar has been ministering at this Church for the past 10 years. Over 200 persons gather at Ribika Society of India Change Prayer Bhawan, in Chitara Mahmoodpur Village at Azamgarh District of Uttar Pradesh every Sunday for Worship Service.

Speaking to Persecution Relief from the Police Station, Pastor Sonu his son, stated that the Police assured him that his father would be released. It is alleged that the Police were under tremendous pressure from the local religious fundamentalists and local village leaders, to file a FIR against Pastor Ledar.

Pastor was detained for the night and released on bail the following day, local Church leaders helped in securing the bail.

Church, please pray for Pastor Ledar and his family, that they will continue to remain steadfast and faithful to Jesus Christ, in spite of this unfair and unjust persecution, because of his faith.

Please continue to pray for several such Pastors who are arbitrarily imprisoned and Churches shut down in Uttar Pradesh.
