AG Church Pastor beaten by Fanatics on the street, Kerala

Pastor Rajan along with 3 other Pastors belonging to the AG (Assemblies of God) Church had gone to distribute gospel tracts.
in Panoor, a Municipality in Kannur, a district in the coastal state of Kerala, India.
The tracts were titled, ‘4 Spiritual Truths & How to have a relation ship with God.’

They divided themselves into two groups, one headed by Pastor Rajan and the other group consisted of Pastor Peter Thomas & K.K.Aliyas.

After K.K.Aliyas and Pastor Peter finished distributing the tracts, they stopped at a spot to wait for the other team to join them. All of a sudden, a group of religious fanatics circled them. A few of them grabbed both believers and started beating them mercilessly. K.K.Aliyas was beaten severely. The fanatics then took them to the Panoor Police station at around 1pm on 2/12/19.

The Pastors who were found innocent, decided not to file any complaint against the religious fanatics and chose to forgive them just as Jesus teaches us to forgive those who persecute us.

Finally the Police reasoned out with the two parties and came to a compromise.

Pastor Mathew Philip from Bangalore informed Persecution Relief about this incident, shortly after which we spoke to Pastor Rajan V Jospeh (Presbyter, AG Church).

The Bible says: Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good- Romans 12:17-21.
