Meeting stopped on alleged conversion charges

The recent reports of persecution are clear indicators that preaching the Gospel and following Christ are dangerous propositions for the people of India. The levels of intolerance continue to increase, as Christians are regularly attacked by radical Hindus.

On the 04 th of June, Pastor Veeresh of Rayadurgam town, Ananthapur District, Andhra Pradesh, Near the Railway Station started the Worship Service like any other Sunday at Jesus Holy Temple. He had bought a plot of land where he had constructed a make shift shamiana, where around 50 believers gathered every Sunday to worship. As the service was in progress, a mob of around 30 religious fundamentalists, gate-crashed and began to shout and demand that the meeting be adjourned. Accompanying them were the Television Crew from TV channels TV5, TV9 and social media covering the proceedings.

They claimed that the meeting was a guise to convert people and that they had no authorization to conduct meetings from the relevant authorities. No police complaint has been lodged so far.
