Bro. Chandan Thakur, originally from Bihar, resides along with his wife and son in Bangalore, since his job has taken him to the city. Bro. Chandan and his family are followers of Jesus Christ for the last 14 years.
Recently, for Christmas vacations, on the 23rd of December, he had visited him mother Sis. Sita Devi, Belkunda village which is around 3kms from Hajipur town in Vaishali district of Bihar. As was customary during Christmas Season, he helped his mother put up the ‘STAR’ on the terrace of their house, for Christmas.
Before returning to Bangalore, Bro. Chandan took his mother to visit his in-laws. After the visit, he proceeded on to Bangalore, while his mother, who lives alone in Bihar, returned to her home.
On reaching home, to her shock and horror, she discovered that somebody had illegally trespassed into her private property, climbed up on to the terrace of the house and destroyed the STAR completely – thanks to the work of the vandal – her neighbour Mr. Rakesh, a Lawyer by profession
Just as he reached Bangalore, he received a call from his mother to report this vandalism and intrusion. To add insult to injury, the “Lawyer” taking advantage of an elderly woman living alone, trespassed into the house, shouting and yelling and verbally assaulting Sis. Sita Devi. He told her that she should forsake her Christian God and instead chant ‘Har Har Mahadev’. He further tried to intimidate her by threatening to lock her in her own home, from the outside; he asked the watching neighbours to bring a lock to secure her inside. But Sis. Sita Devi faced him bravely and challenged him to dare lock her in. Seeing her courage, the Lawyer quickly retreated.
Sis. Sita Devi lives alone. She has lodged a complaint with the ‘Mukiya’ of the village, who has assured her that the charges would be investigated and necessary action taken.
Bro. Chandan called on Persecution Relief Toll Free Number 1800-1234-461 and he was very disturbed and troubled in the Spirit. Persecution Relief team spoke to Sis Sita Devi and assured her of further assistance by speaking to the Village Mukiya and to the Police Officials. The Team also prayed and encouraged her in the Lord.
Church, please pray for Sis. Sita Devi’s protection and peace of mind. Pray also for her son and his family. Pray also for the Lawyer Rakesh and his change of heart.
